Inspiration

07 April 2020

With online delivery becoming just as important to us as our daily exercise, we’ve shared a few companies who are still delivering and can help you during the current climate.

We Deliver Local

Working in partnership with Beelivery, you just pop your postcode in and can order whatever you need. All the items you would expect from a major supermarket are there – fresh fruit and veg, bread, meat, dairy, frozen food, household cleaners, pet food and beauty items. Beelivery is also an app, so you don’t have to turn your laptop on every time you want to make an order. If you’re not sure how to download an app, read our handy guide here.

Cook

Cook is keeping delivery slots for those self-isolating. An excellent option if you can’t really be bothered to cook but still want to enjoy the taste of a home cooked meal. They deliver frozen pre-cooked meals, and you just follow the instructions for cooking when you’re ready to eat. They offer a huge selection of mains and desserts, so you’re bound to find just what you fancy.

Deliveroo

You select the takeaway you’re in the mood for and a Deliveroo driver goes to get it and brings it to your door. In Watford you can choose from burgers, Italian, Indian, Japanese and more. You can order through the app or the website, but we recommend ordering early as they are pretty busy at the moment.

eBay

The site started as an online auction, so get ready to bid for items! If that doesn’t interest you then many sellers offer a ‘buy now’ price so you can skip the action and secure your purchase. The site is a great place to buy furniture, cooking equipment, home entertainment, clothes, fitness equipment and more. Happily, Post Offices are still open and couriers are still delivering which means you shouldn’t have to wait long for your new items to arrive.

Argos

The well-known catalogue has moved online, so now you can purchase outside furniture, electrics, arts and crafts, games, home furnishings and more from the comfort of your own home. As the individual stores have closed, and it’s only those that operate inside a larger Sainsbury’s, the delivery slots are more popular in some areas so you may have to wait for your items.

Amazon

The website that sells virtually everything you could possibly need, and many things you didn’t know you did. From clothes, jewellery and books to household appliances, arts and crafts, furniture and toys, it has it all. Amazon Fresh also sells groceries, although these items are harder to get your hands on at the moment. Before paying double check the delivery date, because some are currently over a month away, you might be able to find a different seller if you want your item sooner.

Local businesses

If you’d like to support local businesses during this time, we have listed some companies who are currently accepting new customers. If there are any who you think should be added to this list please email us.
