In moving to Mayfield Watford retirement village, we have found a welcome in a caring and inclusive community, rich in experience and knowledge with diverse cultures wrapped in a friendly atmosphere. We all fit in together, whatever our background. We have our independent lives whilst being at the centre of village living.
The impact on our lifestyle by moving has far exceeded our expectations. Having downsized and retired it would have been easy to become somewhat introspective, whereas the move has enabled us to expand our horizons, broaden our outlooks. We have taken up new interests, new attitudes and challenges. Basically, we have found new lease of life here.
We knew it was the right move, but we underestimated the positive impact it would have on our lives and lifestyle.
At a time in our life when we needed to re-evaluate our priorities & find new purpose, the wonderful environment here with friendly staff & residents has provided all we need to prosper & enjoy the next phase of our lives.

Since we moved here in July 2023, Karin my wife has become a member of the Events Committee and has help put together and source the Vintage China for the Vintage Teas that are held in the village, as well helping to organise the Annual Village Summer and Christmas Fairs. I have been elected to be an Owner Representative on the Village Forum who meet regularly with the Village Management in a mode of operation based on collaboration, goodwill and mutual trust, aided by openness, effective communication and a willingness to tackle challenging issues directly and honestly. I have also been asked and agreed to be the Owner to represent Mayfield on the Audley / Mayfield Health, Safety and Fire Group which is currently being formed.
We had a dream to move to a place of ‘aspirational living’. We have found that place at Mayfield Watford. The concept and community that is being developed here is a trail blazer for the future of retirement villages.
