Moving in to your new home

If you are soon to move in to your beautiful new home at Mayfield Watford, then we hope you are very much looking forward to the move and we've listed some tips below to help make moving day as stress-free as possible.

The team have been on their intensive induction training and deliveries have been arriving daily, so it’s all systems go as we approach opening day and most importantly, the day you move in to your new home.

Preparing a day one pack in advance

To make life easier on move in day

From experience, here are some quick tips that may help when you/your removal company are packing your belongings. If you have a large box labelled Day 1 and fill it with the following items, it ensures you have convenient access to them all on day one:

  • Medication
  • Night toiletries
  • HDMI Cables/Tv power cables
  • Phone handset and cables
  • Kettle
  • Extension leads and phone chargers
  • Batteries
  • Remote controls
  • iPad

Rather than being buried in separate boxes, having quick access to these items will enable the quicker setting up of TVs and phones. You may also not feel like unboxing everything on day 1 so having medication and night toiletries to hand will also be beneficial.

What to expect on move in day

  • The Sales team will be in touch to confirm your estimated arrival time.
  • Please arrive at reception with your removal team, we will have a dedicated space for them reserved at the front of village.
  • Your Mayfield Host will meet you upon arrival and will be available to support you on the day.
  • Light refreshments will be available to you and anyone that’s supporting you on the day.
  • There'll be a full appliance demonstration delivered by the facilities team the following day.

Telecoms

Eurolink are the preferred supplier for all telephone/sky and broadband services, they have UK based call centres and can send all your hardware to site so that it is all installed prior to your moving in.

A note on snagging

Whilst every effort is made to ensure your apartment is handed over in the best possible condition there may be issues which arise. Upon moving in you have 30 days to pick up any ‘living defects’. These should be reported to Reception who will pass on to the Facilities Manager who will arrange for them to be resolved by the construction workers customer care team.

There are a few items which will not be resolved until the 12-month Defect Liability Period arrives. These will mainly be things like settlement cracks on ceilings, walls, and woodwork etc.

Meet and Greet with your senior team

And ongoing support.

On move in day you'll receive details of a meet and greet welcome with the senior team, which will take place the following day.

The Mayfield Hosts support team will be on site for a two-week period to help during that time. 

Whilst the team have been trained to support you, please bear with the team as some of your Mayfield Hosts are from other areas of the Audley Group business and therefore do not know the village as well as the Watford team does.
