Mayfield’s first village in Watford is located within a new urban development, Watford Riverwell, which is transforming a large area of land close to Watford Hospital and Watford Football Club.
Mayfield Watford will sit alongside this new residential neighbourhood with shops and a riverside park. The village will have easy access to the central area of Watford Riverwell which will include 4.5 acres of green space, a supermarket, hotel, leisure facilities and additional retail shops.
Watford town centre is less than one mile away from the village and offers a host of amenities including an INTU Shopping Centre, restaurants, theatres and a cinema. The INTU shopping centre has recently been re-developed and extended which means the town centre offers more than it ever has done previously. The new cinema has an IMAX, shops include John Lewis and Debenhams, and there several new eateries due to open in 2019 including Cote Brasserie and The Florist. INTU Watford offers dedicated parking with direct indoor access into the shopping centre.
In addition to the town centre there are retail parks located a short distance away with shops including B&Q, Homesense, PC World and Hobbycraft.
Also nearby is the picturesque Cassiobury Park, which was recently voted one of the country’s top ten favourite parks. Cassiobury Park is an ideal place to go walking, running or cycling, and within its limits is the Grand Union Canal which can also be accessed. There are several clubs that operate within and around the park including Watford Bowls Club, Watford Croquet Club and several running and walking clubs. There are also hard tennis courts and in the summer a cricket square is maintained. The park also has two popular cafes.
Watford General Hospital is a short walk away from Mayfield Watford making it convenient for any hospital appointments.
